Trusting in the Spirit
History:
In 2006, Bishop Morlino asked Catholics throughout the Diocese of Madison to work together in Guided by the Spirit, planning for the long term future of the Church in southwestern Wisconsin.
During this time, each parish was asked to name two to three local parishes with whom they believed they would be best suited to work with in any areas of ministry. From these suggestions, 41 “clusters” of the 133 parishes were formed with all the parishes then giving their response to the cluster membership. At the conclusion of the Guided by the Spirit planning process, we entered into a partnership with St. Cecilia Parish in Wisconsin Dells.
What is a partnership?
According to the Diocese of Madison a partnership “is a formal relationship between two or more parishes which reflects the substantial sharing of current programs and resources and/or the development of new resources for ministry…Partnerships conserve resources by avoiding unnecessary duplication of services and enhance ministry by working together to do things that are needed but a single parish might not be able to do them alone.
Over the past several months members from both St. Cecilia’s and St. Joseph’s have been meeting to update and evaluate our cluster implementation plan.
In this newsletter we would like to share with you our Common Mission Statement.
Together, our cluster of St. Cecilia and St. Joseph Catholic Parishes believe in and will collaborate on:
* Celebrating the Eucharist and other sacraments
* Educating and forming our faith communities in the Roman Catholic Tradition
* Fostering hospitality to visitors of other faith communities
* Continuing communication for the future of our parish households of faith
* Continuing outreach to our twinned parish of Sacre Coeur in Thiotte, Haiti.
