THE LIFELONG FAITH FORMATION COMMISSION  GUIDING PRINCIPLE: The firm belief  that “adult faith formation, by which people consciously grow in the life of Christ, through experience, reflection, prayer, and study, must be ‘the central task in this catechetical experience,’ becoming ‘the axis around which revolves the catechesis of childhood and adolescence as well as of old age.”  (Our Hearts Were Burning Within Us by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops) PURPOSE: The Parish Lifelong Faith Formation Commission accomplishes its mission of assisting the pastor and staff in providing for the parish’s catechetical and evangelical efforts by:                         1)  supporting the pastor and the staff in their efforts to provide for the faith formation                  and the education programs for all members of the parish.             2)  assisting the pastor and staff with the identification and training of                  potential catechists.             3)  being vocal in their support of Lifelong Faith Formation.             4)  assisting the staff in the planning of the calendar year for Lifelong                  Faith Formation and monthly GIFT programs.             5)  working collaboratively with other parish ministries to ensure an integrated                    approach to the parish’s catechetical efforts.  COMMISSION MEMBERSHIP:             1)  A general invitation to the parish, via bulletins & newsletters, seeking interested                  participants              2) Calling on representatives from each walk of life to be part of the Commission, i.e.                         Single adult                                         Senior Adult                         Parent of teenager                             Catechist                         Parent of Catholic School child/ren    Parent of pre-school child/ren                         Catholic School Principal                    Children’s Liturgy of the Word Minister              3) One/Two members of the Parish Pastoral Council                                      (Attachment for ARTICLE V, SECTION 2) Adopted February 18, 2009 Parish 608.356.4773 - School 608.356.3083 - Early Childhood Center 608.356.5969 - Faith Formation 608.356.5353  300 2nd Steet - Baraboo, WI 53913
