As the adult members of St. Joseph Parish, living our mission statement of proclaiming and teaching God’s word, we “must be mature in faith and well equipped to share the Gospel...through adult faith formation, by which we consciously grow in the life of Christ through experience, reflection, prayer, and study.”
With Psalms: The School of Prayer, The Great Adventure moves from telling the story to making it personal. While the historical books of the Bible recount God’s creative and redemptive acts in history, the Psalms reveal Israel’s response to God’s covenant offer and serve as a model for our response to Him. The Psalms express the whole spectrum of our life experience: our orientation to God (hymns of praise and well-being in God’s presence); our disorientation from God (songs of lament and loss); and our reorientation to God (hymns of thanks and restoration). This ten-week course by Jeff Cavins and Sarah Christmyer begins on Thursday, February 3 through Lent to Thursday, April 14.
Reigstration and material will be available for pick-up after the Masses the week-end of January 15 & 16. Cost fot the study guide is $20.00. Scholarship money is always available.

In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women--mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends--view one another. A deeply moving novel filled with poignancy, humor, and hope, The Help is a timeless and universal story about the lines we abide by, and the ones we don't.
