As the adult members of St. Joseph Parish, living our mission statement of proclaiming and teaching God’s word, we “must be mature in faith and well equipped to share the Gospel...through adult faith formation, by which we consciously grow in the life of Christ through experience, reflection, prayer, and study.”
James is one of the most practical books of the Bible. Like the book of Proverbs, it is a book of wisdom, a collection of teachings on issues faced by ordinary Christians in everyday life. This study offers "pearls for wise living" by applying the wisdom of James to the present day.
Bible Study to begin on Thursday, September 6, 1:30 & 7:00 pm in the Holy Family Room.
St. Joseph's Book Club
Have you ever read a book that you couldn’t wait to discuss with someone?A book that made you think? That challenged you to grow or change in some way?
We have chosen the book Born Fundamentalist, Born Again Catholic by David B. Currie for our August 2012 Book Discussion on Monday, August 13. David Currie was raised in a devout Christian family whose father was a fundamentalist preacher and both parents teachers at Moody Bible Institute. This book was written as an explanation to his fundamentalist and evangelical friends and family about why he became a Roman Catholic. Currie presents a very luci, systematic and intelligible account of the reasons for his conversion to the ancient Church that Christ founded.
